England’s Glory

Peter Perritt

England’s Glory were Peter Perrett‘s band prior to the formation of The Only Ones. A band still somewhat shrouded in mystery due to a lot of misinformation generated after their original recordings were released after The Only Ones  debut album. More confusion and intrigue came about when a noted UK music scribe decided to insist that Perrett was copying Transformer-era Lou Reed. The problem with this critique was, the England’s Glory recordings were made before Reed settled into the style he is known for with the  release of Transformer. At this safe distance, history can now attest to the undeniable talent of the sadly troubled Peter PerrettShowdown was selected as the Hit That Never Was, and the track can be found on the Legendary Lost Album.
