Marvin & Bob

The Marvin & Bob mash-up fitted perfectly into a bumper-packed program starting with Theresa Argie, the co-author of America’s Most Haunted: The Secrets of Famous Paranormal Places.  Theresa told us about some of her favorite haunted places and Norman B recounted his experience with a ghost in Livingstone, Montana. Halloween may just have passed but here at Life Elsewhere it’s never too late to talk about ghosts and ghouls and haunted houses. So what could be better than to learn from Theresa Argie, the co-author of America’s Most Haunted: The Secrets of Famous Paranormal Places.

Eric Kaplan tells Norman B about an encounter with a neighborhood mother who worried about reindeer-induced questions when their respective children were to go on a field trip to the zoo. This led the comedy writer and co-producer of The Big Bang Theory to tackle a tough question, Does Santa Exist? and write a book with that title.

This week’s Hit That Never Was features a  Marvin Gaye classic, Let’s Get It On remixed and reworked to the rhythm of Bob Marley’s Waiting In Vain.

Plus, Life Elsewhere presents Florida Amendment 2 Redux, with just one day to go before the midterm elections, we invited back to Life Elsewhere, pre-eminent litigation attorney and pro-legalization advocate Ted Corless to explains the legal ramifications of Amendment 2 and Eco Farmer and Expert Horticulturist, Robert Tornello to share his thoughts on the realities of growing cannabis, pesticides and the importance of safety in medicinal cannabis production.

Florida Amendment 2 – Expert Opinions

On the next edition of Life Elsewhere we will discuss Florida Amendment 2 with a panel of experts who all agree Florida voters on November 4 should consider their options very carefully. The official ballot reads: Florida Amendment 2 allows the medical use of marijuana for individuals with debilitating diseases as determined by a licensed Florida physician. Allows caregivers to assist patients’ medical use of marijuana. The Department of Health shall register and regulate centers that produce and distribute marijuana for medical purposes and shall issue identification cards to patients and caregivers. Applies only to Florida law. Does not authorize violations of federal law or any non-medical use, possession or production of marijuana. Supporters of Amendment 2 say the measure will help people with debilitating medical conditions. Opponents, on the other hand, argue the amendment is “de facto legalization” of marijuana.

To help us fully understand what Florida Amendment 2 means, we have assembled a panel of experts to offer their opinions. Joining us will be Cathy Jordan, who has ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease and her husband Bob who has been growing marijuana to ease his wife’s suffering. Pre-eminent litigation attorney and pro-legalization advocate Ted Corless will explain the legal ramifications of Amendment 2. Ted is also the host of Newsmunchies and a frequent Life Elsewhere contributor. Greg Gerdeman, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biology at Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida, teaches courses in Cell Biology, Human Physiology, Receptor Pharmacology and Neuroscience, will talk about his studies as a neurophysiologist with expertise in the endocannabinoid system and mechanisms of drug reward and addiction. Medical Marijuana Researcher Suzanne Sisley M.D. with a practice in Arizona and known nationwide as the Principal Investigator for the only FDA-approved randomized controlled trial looking at the use of medical marijuana to alleviate treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), will explain why she supports Amendment 2. Distinguished neurologist at University of Southern Florida and Tampa General Hospital, Juan R. Sanchez-Ramos M.D. Ph.D, will lend his expertise to the discussion. Plus, we’ll hear from Eco Farmer and Expert Horticulturist, Robert Tornello and learn about the realities of growing cannabis.

We urge you not to miss this important program on Florida Amendment 2. Full disclosure, we reached out to a number of opponents to Florida Amendment 2, but not one followed up with a representative willing to join the program, (at the time of this post). If you have an opinion on Amendment 2, we would like to hear from you, send your email to: info (at) lifeelsewhere (dot) co

An Intelligent Debate.

Times, they certainly are a-changing. It was just a short while ago when The War On Drugs was a wedge issue garnering votes. Many perceptive observers believe a drastic change will occur with the legalization of Cannabis.

Is The War On Drugs being dramatically and rapidly replaced by a movement to Legalize Cannabis? Will the wide-spread acceptance of Cannabis use be a major issue in the 2016 Presidential election? In the next edition of Life Elsewhere we will present both sides of this important topic, which everyone appears to have an opinion on, yet few truly understand the facts. Join us for an intelligent debate with two experts who have opposing views.

Teresa Miller, a community volunteer for over 30 years,  decided to educate herself on the issues regarding legalizing medical marijuana. Based on statistics, studies and findings. Teresa Miller created the website RethinkPot.org, who’s slogan is, “If you don’t think legalizing marijuana will affect you…think again!”

Taking the opposing view is pre-eminent litigation attorney, Ted Corless, who has become an outspoken advocate for the legalization of Cannabis. Mr. Corless created News Munchies, a site offering “Stimulating and spicy commentary in order to find workable solutions to tomorrow’s most tenacious problems”.

Your participation in the program is encouraged. Email your thoughts, opinions and questions to comment@lifeelsewhere.co
