Our distinguished all-star lineup includes esteemed New York City-based creative director; Robert Newman, famed singer-songwriter, Amy Rigby; scholarly anthropologist and author, Agustin Fuentes; best-selling author and screenwriter, Mark Haskell Smith and astute journalist, Remy Carreiro. Who Chose The Great Bear Sleeping Bag?

We called upon a distinguished panel of guests to take part in the 3rd Annual Life Elsewhere Holiday Gift Special and asked them to come up with three books and one non-book gift. The results are as diverse as they are intriguing and unpredictable. One guest selected for their non-book gift, a Great Bear Sleeping Bag. Can you guess who? Could it be frequent contributor and witty author, Mark Haskell Smith? Perhaps it was astute caricaturist and social commentator, Steve Brodner? Or maybe talented new British-American singer-songwriter Zuzu, who demonstrated in last week’s edition she has a cheeky sense of humor. Then there’s the erudite raconteur, Patrick O’Neil, a master of incorporating the unconventional into his tales. And, finally, did Robert Newman the esteemed creative director, widely recognized for his perceptive take on life, select the Great Bear Sleeping Bag? Find out in the next edition of Life Elsewhere.

Also in the program, we are very pleased to welcome back, renowned film and media critic, Bob Ross, who will give us his sensible overview of this year’s Holiday movie releases.

3rd Annual Life Elsewhere Holiday Gift Special

Ugly Sweater

Ugly Christmas sweaters festooned with kitschy mind-boggeling, knitted tchotchkes are so hot this year. Google searches for ugly Christmas sweaters are at an all-time high in the U.S. and Canada. Why even Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Hillary Clinton are selling campaign-related ugly sweaters. We donned our ugly Christmas sweaters to conjure up the 3rd Annual Life Elsewhere Holiday Gift Special. Deliberately replacing Christmas with the politically correct Holiday, in part to piss off Bill O’Reilly. We called upon some of our favorite imaginative minds to entertain us with their Holiday Gift selections. Smart, witty author, Mark Haskell Smith; astute, informed caricaturist and social commentator, Steve Brodner; influential and acclaimed Creative Director, Robert Newman; conscientious and sagacious author, Patrick O’Neil; talented new British-American musician, Zuzu. Our creative panel were asked to select three books and one non-book gift. Don’t miss the diverse, intriguing and unpredictable results in the next edition of Life Elsewhere.

Also in the program renowned film and media critic, Bob Ross, will give his sensible overview of this year’s Holiday movie releases.

A Human Instinct For War is the title of Norman B’s latest contribution to Trebuchet Magazine.

Sexy Videos. New Music. Famous Parents.

Our headline was written deliberately to get your attention. In the latest post at BACK. Norman B looks at the beginnings of music videos and MTV, wondering if recent creative and most decidedly sexy filmatic music promotions signal an open and unabashed attitude towards what was almost taboo, back in 1981. Check out the three provocative videos he selected to illustrate the post, (and scroll down to see more from earlier entries).

Being aware of what’s happening in culture, is why Life Elsewhere exists. We work enthusiastically delving into subjects worth sharing, in ways other media presentations are not equipped or able to try. Norman B engages with guests, asking questions that are not on a PR’s cheat sheet. His often emotional, personal reactions are genuine, this is the essence of Life Elsewhere.

In the next edition of Life Elsewhere, that spirit comes across as Norman B begins his interview with championship-winning soccer player, Robbie Rogers. The host relates a personal story, which takes Robbie by surprise. Tune in and hear how Robbie Rogers made history by standing up and coming out as a gay athlete. He recounts his courageous story of being closeted and the trauma he went through in his book, Coming Out To Play.

Also, regular contributor Bob Ross, film and media expert, joins the program to discuss the Holiday movie releases, including the almost seemingly fictitious revelation that North Korea is behind the Sony Pictures cyber attack. Plus another, clever listener has sent us a wonderful suggestion for this week’s Hit That Never Was. Find out what that song is; hear what Bob Ross has to say about Holiday movies and soccer player, Robbie Rogers talking about coming out, all on the next edition of Life Elsewhere.

Life Elsewhere airs Monday at 9.00am ET
