According to the Neilsen company, whose business is to keep tabs on these things, more than 24.7 million viewers watched USA’s thrilling draw with Portugal on ESPN and Univision. The gripping World Cup game was seen by an average of 24.7 million viewers last Sunday evening and an additional 490,000 people streamed coverage of the game on their mobile devices. “At last, this could mean that America takes football, er, soccer seriously!” Said Michael Dennis of FanChants, reporting on the World Cup, live from Brazil for Life Elsewhere.
